If you signed a record deal with a record label and recorded a project with about 10 songs on it, even if it sold PLATINUM (which would be difficult during this recession) the MOST you would probably get as an artist would be about $40,000 to $50,000 off the record sales. You would have to pay money to the radio stations (This cost usually runs about $500,000) for which none of it guarantees the longevity of it being on the playlist and none of it guarantees that you will make (or get) your money back. Everyone else associated with the label will get paid before you get yours and at the end of your contract you could very well end up owing THEM money. The industry is now changing and you no longer have to rely on the old conventional method of promoting your song. Contact me and I will tell you (and show you) what you can do to promote your song without having to compromise EVERYTHING. You can email me at Brettjolly@aol.com or you can contact me directly at 215-900-9022.
